Springtime - The Flea Season

Perth is finally starting to warm up, which we are eager for, but if you’re a pet owner you should be vigilantly looking out for a small, unwanted, guest. Our pets may be at risk of their nemesis – fleas. With the warmer weather come the small, yet nasty animal-loving bugs. They may seem insignificant, but they are the main cause for skin disease in pests, with symptoms like itchiness, weeping sores, scaly skin and unwanted smells. If that wasn’t enough, these bloodsucking bugs can introduce tapeworms to your pet’s body.

Fleas may be around year round, but they are most aggressive in spring, when their numbers are soaring. This is why you need to take precautions, like washing the animal’s bedding and sleeping area regularly. If you see any signs of scratching, make sure you get it check as soon as possible. It also helps to keep your lawn freshly mowed, and vacuuming the house will keep the little pests at bay.

However if you think that you may have an infestation, do not hesitate to give us a call. We are trained professionals and know exactly how to remove the pests quickly and efficiently. Just give us a call and we will happily help you with the problem.
